UPDATE: 26/6/2017

2017 Ditcham After Dark Campsite Rules

Back by popular demand, we are excited to announce the return of the Ditcham After Dark Camp Over event to kick off the 2017/18 school year. Set within the beautifully secluded Walled Garden, the event is open to all Ditcham families, staff and their friends - a real Ditcham family affair! You won't want to miss this popular event so so book your pitch now.

Time: 16 September 2pm - 17 September 11am.

The highlight of the weekend will be music performances from our very own Talented Ditcham Pupils and ending the evening with live music.

On Saturday from 5pm, we’ll have fabulous food vendors, selling fresh hot food. Of course, you are welcome to bring cool bags with your own picnics and cold drinks and you may bring alcohol for personal consumption - in moderation please, given this is a family event. The Friends will also be running a Tuck Shop!

Weather & conditions permitting, we shall have a fire pit on the go to toast marshmallows, but this will not be until after the bands have finished – and remember your children will need to be supervised at all times around the fire pit!

On Sunday, bring your own breakfast cereals & we’ll provide the milk along with coffee and tea.

  • Cost to camp: £10 per adult, £5 per child, under 5’s are free.
  • Cost for evening only, no camping: £5 per adult, £2.50 per child.
Please note **Children MUST be accompanied by an adult.**

We hope you will join us for this fabulous family event. Tickets are limited and will be sold on a 'first-come, first-served' basis... so please, do book as early as possible to avoid disappointment – last year’s event was a sell-out! You can read more here about the first ever Family Campover in 2015.

Please complete the booking form & send your form & cheque payment into school for the attention of Lucy Reidy, The Friends of Ditcham Park School Chair.

Hope to see you there!

IMPORTANT NOTE: No personal BBQS or hot cooking equipment will be allowed for health and safety reasons.

2017 Ditcham After Dark Campsite Rules

Are you ready for a “Knockout 40th Birthday May Event”?

This time in 1977, Paddy Holmes and her first academic year of pupils were enjoying their first spring at Ditcham Park… 40 years on and the FDPS is planning for a tremendously exciting family event, suitable for all, to celebrate this very special landmark in Ditcham’s history.

On Saturday 20th May, the FDPS invites ALL the school body – parents, pupils, grandparents and their whole circle of family and friends – to join the FDPS committee and School staff for a FABULOUS celebratory event!  One of great fun, laughter, shopping, great food and, for those with a youthful and funloving spirit, the chance to enter a “Knockout Challenge” (Its A Knockout)!

The event itself (usually called the “May Fayre”) will be free to enter as normal, only this year, as a thank you for years of support from parents and staff in running Year Group stalls, we’ll be laying on a very special treat – with no Year Group stall duty for any of you!

A fabulous shopping village will be available for all who enjoy the legendary shopping opportunities our fayres always provide, there will be 4 amazing external food stalls on hand including pizza, fish and chips and much much more!  In the Solent Suite you’ll find a scrumptious tea room run by the school’s catering team. And what do you have to do?  Nothing! Just relax and enjoy the show!

During the afternoon we’ll be hosting the “Knockout Challenge” company who will run their Bronze Show on our front pitch/lawn overloking the Solent.  We initially have 160 places for our children to enter this challenge (at just £10 per head, including event team T-Shirt), and they will enjoy an hour each of wet and dry inflatable activities, games and team challenges!

Watch the video and read/complete the letter/booking form (links below) for more details, including your child’s application form.  Don’t delay these spaces will fill up soon!

Update (14 May 2017): The booking for this event has now closed. We hope to see you all at the event! For more information about the day, here is a letter from our Chair, Lucy Reidy.

Friday Night Fever – tickets available now!

The Christmas and New Year party season may be over, but in just 8 weeks’ time we invite you to pull on your dancing shoes again and join us for our “fabulously funky” Friday Night Fever dinner dance at The Tithe Barn, Ditcham on Friday 3rd March.  The booking form you will need to purchase your tickets can be accessed by clicking the link below – please don’t delay in submitting your ticket request, they’re bound to sell fast!  On the evening, we’ll enjoy a superb 3 course dinner, dancing to “Saturday Night Beaver”, a Silent Auction and fun casino.   Tickets are just £60 per head, tables seat 8.  This “adults only” evening begins at 6.45pm, with carriages at 11.45pm.

The Silent Auction – can you help?

We are currently busy collating magnificent prizes for our silent auction and wonder if you may be able to help. Do you have a skill you can share, an experience to offer, a fast car to drive or a holiday home to share? Are you able to donate something magical to help us raise funds for the Friends? If so, we would love to hear from you either through our FDPS email or directly to [email protected].”

All ticket requests should be returned via the School Office, complete with all guest details and payments, for the attention of Lucy Reidy (please mark the envelope “Friday Night Fever”) or it is possible to make payment by BACs with prior agreement and the form submitted by email.  If you wish to take this latter option please email Lucy first and send her confirmation of the BACS transfer so that our Treasurer can locate the payment.

Dress Code: “Dress to Impress”!  Remember this is a very special, glittering and glamourous “ball” occasion, so the usual “Black Tie and Evening Gowns” would be most appropriate – but perhaps you might add your own “70’s twist” for arrival?  Big Hair all round 🙂

Hope you can join us!
